2,000 US soldiers boarded a British transport ship on Thanksgiving Day 1943 for their first day of war. The following day a radio-guided missile sank the ship in what remains the greatest loss of life at sea in the history of US war. The attack was classified and forgotten along with the 1157 soldiers and crew killed that day. Their families never found out what happened; their boys just never came home... It's Time to Tell the Truth.
