Have you ever considered that where you live, learn, work and play affect your health?

Join the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM), American Association on Health and Disability (AAHD), and the All of Us Research Program as we explore this important topic while watching the award-winning documentary, Hearts of Glass.

About Hearts of Glass

In this film, you will meet several people with intellectual and developmental disabilities whose health and lives were improved through employment at Vertical Harvest (VH). VH is a state-of-the-art vertical greenhouse in the small town of Jackson, Wyoming.

Hearts of Glass weaves the story of this ambitious startup with the personal journeys of employees with disabilities. Plants and people grow together in this intimate portrait of innovation, inclusion, and community health.

About the Panel Discussion (Watch the recording by going to the Q&A tab above and clicking on the "Click Here to Watch Recording" button)

On Monday, March 14th we hosted a dynamic panel discussion. We invite you to watch the recorded conversation. This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from the Hearts of Glass filmmaker, and two Vertical Harvest employees featured in the film. They were joined by a researcher who will address the ways in which social determinants of health directly affect our health, and the health disparities of those in the disability community. Social determinants of health include where we live, how we socialize, and employment security, among other things.

For information on our panelists and how to join the conversation, visit the “Q&A” tab on this site.
