About

Daniel Moult goes on an odyssey to discover the history and culture of the pipe organ in England. Visiting dozens of locations and thirty-three pipe organs, interviewing experts and performing scores of pieces from the Tudor period to the 21st century, this is a history of England from the perspective of its grandest musical instrument.

In Part 3 Dan charts England's challenges and triumphs in the 20th century, showing how these are reflected in phases of organ building that lurch between modernism and nostalgia. Where will the 21st century lead us?
