Welcome, disability advocates and allies in Bartholomew County and beyond! We're excited to share an award-winning story of employment possibilities and community inclusion with you.
Our programming — a screening of the film Hearts of Glass AND an interactive panel discussion — is brought to you by The Arc of Bartholomew County with the support of The Heritage Fund of the Community Foundation of Bartholomew County.
Hearts of Glass follows the tumultuous first 15 months of operation of Vertical Harvest (VH) of Jackson, Wyoming, a state-of-the-art hydroponic greenhouse that provides meaningful, inclusive employment for people with disabilities.
The film weaves the story of VH’s launch with the personal journeys of employees with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Plants and people grow together in this intimate portrait of innovation, inclusion and impact.
We’d love to have you join us for an in-person screening of the film at the YES Cinema in Columbus, Indiana on Wednesday, March 23rd at 6 pm ET. Following the screening, we’ll hold a panel discussion with audience Q&A. For more information, visit thearcbc.org
If you can’t make it to the theater, you can watch the film at your convenience on Show&Tell from March 17th through March 27th. The film is being presented on Show&Tell with descriptive audio (in English) and closed captioning (in English and Spanish). You can join the panel discussion virtually on March 23rd at 7:15 pm ET.
The panel will touch on how a culture of inclusion and sustainability benefits businesses, communities and individuals. For more information on the panel discussion, please click on the Q&A tab.
